Adams County LCC Meeting Highlights

  • Guest Presentation: Colorado Coalition for the Homeless
    • Ily Mabe shared information about services and programs offered through the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, including:
      • Healthcare services through Stout Street Clinic, including medical care, pharmacy services, patient portals, Medicaid enrollment assistance, and records requests

Housing resources through the Dez Department, including housing navigation, rent assistance resources, transitional housing referrals, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness

Housing First wraparound services and harm reduction programs

Additional support services including childcare, employment assistance, Native American Services, Rural Initiatives, Fort Lyon referrals, and Veteran services

Transportation and employment were identified as critical factors in maintaining housing stability. Common transportation barriers include limited funding for transit passes, lack of smartphone access, and challenges navigating RTD services.

  • Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) Update
    • Met with Joshua Sender to review project progress

Final review of the Unincorporated Adams County draft is underway

Seven participating agencies are finalizing edits and comments

Project completion is anticipated in late May or early June

Website updates will be provided as milestones are reached

Joshua Sender may attend a future meeting to present the finalized plan

  • RTD Bus Stop Inventory Update
    • RTD owns approximately 300 of the region’s 9,800 bus stops

Study is evaluating ownership, maintenance, repair responsibilities, and improvement opportunities

Ridership data is being used to prioritize enhancements such as benches and shelters

RTD is collaborating with cities and counties to identify funding opportunities for improvements

Study completion is expected in April 2026

  • Member Updates
    • Concerns were raised regarding RTD service access to the Brighton Courthouse and Government Center. Members discussed opportunities for collaboration between Adams and Broomfield Counties within the 17th Judicial District to improve access.

SRC shared information about expanded Support Day programming through Via Mobility Services, including no-waitlist Door Through Door transportation and emergency Uber rides for qualifying individuals.

Meals on Wheels announced its partnership with VOA to provide meals for adults age 60 and older and is creating opportunities for congregate dining to help reduce social isolation.
