Guest Presentation: Qualified Listeners

Chrysti Britt shared information about Qualified Listeners, a volunteer-based organization offering:

  • Free rides for medical and non-medical needs (ambulatory and wheelchair accessible)
  • Peer-to-peer support and advocacy
  • Service area from Wyoming to New Mexico
  • Support for veterans in partnership with the VA
  • One-time financial assistance (e.g., car repairs paid directly to vendors)
  • Assistance with home modifications (e.g., grab bars) and home furnishings
  • Donation acceptance (furniture and medical equipment in good condition)

  • Via’s AI assistant “Alex” now supports ride booking
  • Alex can switch languages, provide compassionate phone support, and connect callers to a live person
  • Via served 3,000 riders from late September through December
  • New, quieter Patera buses coming online; Gilic fleet awaiting license plates
