As Election Day approaches and ballots begin to arrive at Coloradans’ doorsteps, we want to help inform our members, subscribers and followers as they choose candidates in statewide contests.
While we can’t endorse candidates as a 501(c)3 organization, we were happy to reach out to every person running for the Colorado Senate and House of Representatives in early September with a five-minute candidate questionnaire. We wanted to learn where candidates stand on roadway safety issues including:
- Distracted driving
- Automated enforcement
- Infrastructure funding
- And the Colorado Safety Stop
Now we’re sharing their responses with you.
Candidates in 51 of the 83 House and Senate seats up for election this year responded to our questionnaire. We have not edited candidates’ responses in any way, and will update these articles if and when we hear from additional candidates in the days to come.

At Bicycle Colorado, we envision a Colorado where riding a bicycle is always safe and convenient for everyone, where bicycling is the top choice for recreation and everyday trips, and where the benefits of bicycling are experienced and valued by all people in our state.
