Women from all across the state of Colorado gathered at the Capitol on March 5th to introduce themselves to their legislators and to watch the House and Senate in action.
This day of education was hosted by The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, a nonprofit organization who strives to catalyze communities to advance and accelerate economic opportunities for Colorado women and their families. Our gracious hosts used the morning to educate the women in the room about a few bills that their foundation is focusing on this session, then they escorted us around the Capitol to watch our representatives as they discussed bills on the House and Senate floors, as well as in smaller committees.
The best portion of the day was watching strong women from far and wide gathering to raise their voices. There was excitement, exchanging of knowledge, and a good attitude within the group. It will be interesting to watch how the bills The Women’s Foundation of Colorado are supporting progress throughout this legislative session.
