Looking into getting grant money and Cares Act dollars to continue running The Prospector
Want to have service running again by July
Spoke to county commissioners and 1 thought transportation wasn’t necessary (or at least a priority) with the budget cuts going on
Important to show value of incoming customers who come patronize Clear Creek through Bustang since Prospector connects the two
Other ways transportation connects people to the county:
CDOT is committed to moving forward with making a transportation hub in Clear Creek
Potential conversation to be had with RTD?
Having lost The Prospector and the Senior Resource Center as transportation options, the Clear Creek LCC acknowledges the need to “up the ante” and collaborate to get people other mobility option or to make sure The Prospector gets back up and running
How can DRMAC help with this goal?
Loveland ski area is closed for the season
Opening up & tourism
There are differing opinions about this but it is important to “walk the tight rope” of getting people to visit because the sales tax dollars will be what keeps businesses open
Concerns surround the fact that Clear Creek has the oldest population in the state and need to be careful about social distancing
It’s a balance between the economic crisis and a potential for another health crisis. It will be hard to let businesses open their doors and then tell them they have to shut down a second time.
Focusing on messaging of how to invite tourist in without undo risk to the community
A re-opening plan was reviewed today and should be going live June 4th
“Celebrating Summer” program looking to have recreation in parks with limited numbers and social distancing
Question posed to the group: What is happening to the vehicles that Seniors’ Resource Center were using?
Thoughts about using transportation to keep social distancing but still being able to do things like parades for 4th of July. Decorate your cars and still have the parade to honor those who have served and the spirit of the holiday
Paid parking will be returning to downtown
1st hour free
2nd hour is $1
3rd hour is $2
Every hour after is $5
City and county employees will park for free
Next meeting: schedule varies, contact DRMAC for the next meeting details.
