As a teacher at St. Vrain school district, Ms. Loachamin noticed that no students were riding the bus. Invested in understanding how, from a community standpoint access to transportation can be modeled and taught, and improved for safety (ex: crossing busy streets to access medical clinic). Active with Resiliency for All/Resiliencia Para Todos: Identifying barriers to accessing local resources for monolingual community.

Via Mobility:
Vaccine Appointments: Willing to go far north (Ft Collins etc) and into mountain communities. Still free for 60+ or people who have a disability
. 2nd vaccine appointments: Will assist riders and bypass the system to get people to scheduled 2nd vaccine appointments.
Food Delivery: Delivering from Boulder County Farmers Markets to all older adults, WIC & SNAP recipients. Also delivering through partnerships with EFFA/ Louisville Community Food Share. Still delivering COVID bags for quarantined individuals

-2020 10-ride ticket books are good until the end of 2021
-RTD metro Taxi pilot: supplementing Flex-ride in DTC 10A-2P
– Hired 3 additional mental health clinicians (this is an expansion of 2018 program) whose role is to supplement or assist officers and to provide advocacy and resources.
-Ridership is still capacity limited, Currently at about 60%.
-Received funding and distributed to support operations and services. Impact will be in effect for many years. Will be approaching changes with impact of service at forefront.

Q: What about school transportation?
A: Very expensive to provide this. Community liaisons are serving mobile home parks / children not in RTD 2.5 mile radius.
(Comment: Landon Hilliard and Amy Thompson from Safe Routes to School are asking to have this conversation prior to next school year.)
Boulder County/ RTD Accountability Committee: Fare and pass recommendations

Staff suggestions to RTD included:
Fares: eliminate regional fare- make finding MyRide purchase options easier and then make non cash fares cheaper than cash; Change discount fares and qualifying LiVE fares free. Form pass programs- to prevent double paying for fares. Add monthly pay as you go option. Consolidate EcoPass into one business/ neighborhood to combat free fares and lost revenue.
Parking: charge for parking at all RTD lots, tiering parking fees based on proximity. Allow organizations to determine if they want to pay for parking for employees
Small groups: MAC (Mobility and Access Coalition-new name for Boulder LCC) redesign brainstorming session/ MAC mission statement.
