What We Do

Mission Statement

The mission of DRMAC is to overcome mobility barriers through education, collaboration, and advocacy to enhance quality of life. Inform and empower people to overcome mobility barriers. Help make transportation equitable, accessible, and affordable for all.

Vision

The vision of DRMAC is to ensure people with mobility barriers have access to travel options across the region.

We focus on supporting older adults, people with low incomes, and individuals with disabilities, while also working to expand transportation access for diverse communities, especially in areas where transportation inequities exist. Our goal is to help people reach the places they need to go safely, efficiently, and affordably.

Our staff and Board of Directors guide this work through four key strategies: advocacy, coordination, education, and information.

As the Regional Coordinating Council, DRMAC brings communities together by facilitating Local Coordinating Councils in counties across our service area. These councils connect transportation providers, riders, community organizations, and advocates to identify needs and develop solutions.

DRMAC also offers free programs and supports community organizations by increasing awareness of transportation resources and identifying gaps in transit services.

We are proud to serve as a bridge between multimodal transit users, transportation providers, human service organizations, advocates, community members, organizations, and government leaders, helping to create a more accessible and equitable transportation system for all.

DRMAC’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our organization has made great strides in educating our board of directors and team in DEI best practices as well as working to make sure our staff and board of directors reflect the diversity in the communities we serve. We practice and value Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by actively practicing the following:

  • Respect: We treat all people with dignity and respect regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, physical/mental abilities, age, sexual orientation, geographic location and or income status.
  • Ethics: We strive to meet the highest ethical standards.
  • Stewardship: We honor the diverse communities we serve by being socially, financially, and environmentally responsible.
  • Learning: We challenge our stakeholders, community partners, staff, and board of directors to strive for excellence and to continually learn to embrace and respect diversity.
