Approval of Minutes

Transportation Developments in Douglas County

Douglas County continues investing in roads, infrastructure, multimodal planning, and transit to keep pace with community growth.
Crystal Valley Interchange: Northbound I-25 ramps opened in July 2026; southbound ramps are expected in 2027.
Dawson Trails development will bring new housing, retail, recreation, and medical services.
The 2050 Integrated Transit & Multimodal Plan identified gaps for non-drivers and opportunities to improve transit, bicycle, and pedestrian connections.

Link On Demand

Douglas County approved a $2 million pilot to expand Link On Demand into Castle Rock.
Existing service continues in Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, and Parker, with additional expansion planned.
New Bustang stops in Lone Tree connect riders to Denver and Colorado Springs and are co-located with the RTD light rail station; Link On Demand can connect riders to the station.
Castle Rock is seeing strong ridership and increased service ratings; additional data will be reviewed and shared.
New pre-booking restrictions were implemented for riders age 60+ and people with temporary or permanent disabilities due to cancellations and booking issues affecting availability.
Link On Demand is exploring AI call-center technology, while human support remains available for more complicated trips.
Mapping issues have been identified when AI uses Google Maps, and Via is working to correct destination errors internally.
Transportation gaps discussed included non-emergency medical transportation for ambulatory individuals traveling to hospitals.
Members were reminded that Link On Demand is not intended for medical emergencies and protocols are in place to contact emergency services when needed.
Tracy will connect Ryan with the Mental Health Initiative to explore an opportunity to present on Link On Demand.
The group also discussed opportunities for bicycle safety education and improving connections between biking and public transportation.

DRCOG Active Transportation Plan

The draft plan focuses on improving walking, bicycling, and rolling throughout the Denver region.

Public feedback was requested through September 1, 2026.

DRMAC Programming

Technology Training: Supports transportation technology use, digital safety, payment options, and scam prevention.
Transit to Table: Provides free rideshare transportation for individuals experiencing transportation barriers and food insecurity.
Next Ride Forward: Supports individuals transitioning from incarceration with transportation resources for employment, appointments, housing, and other community needs.

LCC Discussion

Members discussed continuing to identify transportation gaps and barriers within Douglas County.
The LCC will continue monitoring changes in the community and identifying areas where additional transportation connections and services are needed.
