DRCOG Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) – November 15, 2021
DRCOG’s TAC met on Monday, November 15. The one action item was the approval amendments to the 2020-2023 TIP. These amendments comply with the 2020-2023 TIP policy. The amendments added were:
- Replacement of the I70 viaduct-including the addition of one managed lane in each direction from I25 to Chambers
- Expansion of the HOP transit service to connect the regional transit hub at 30th and Pearl to the business park on the east side of town
- Purchase of battery electric buses and charging equipment to further advance the electrification of the HOP fleet in Boulder
Informational briefings provided at the meeting provided included continued discussion of the draft FY 2024-2027 TIP Policy and draft TIP application. There was also a presentation regarding the “Super Call” for projects funded by Older Americans Act/Older Coloradans Act, Federal Transit Administration 5310 Program, and/or DRCOG Transportation Improvement Program Human Services Transportation Set-Aside. Additionally, there was an annual update from the Advanced Mobility Partnership (AMP), a part of Mobility Choice Blueprint.
CDOT gave a presentation on the investments they are planning to make in its mountain transit service for the upcoming winter season. The Snowstang service they have provided in recent seasons will continue with some new routes, and there will be an addition of a new shuttle service called Pegasus. The smaller Pegasus vehicles will be able to uses express lanes and will not require CDL drivers. Vehicles are wheelchair accessible.
