Jon Johnson, DOTI Planning, reported on the Safe Routes to School Action Plan. The 5 year action plan is to serve as a roadmap to strengthen the existing safe routes to school program. Within the plan, there are 50 goals, 8 emphasis areas, and a 5 year road map. The plan prioritizes schools within the DOTI Equity Index Areas of Need and/or schools with more than 40% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. It also prioritizes schools with medium or high traffic safety concerns. If you’re interested in joining the stakeholder committee, email SRTS@denvergov.org.
