Guest Presentation: Qualified Listeners
Chrysti Britt shared information about Qualified Listeners, a volunteer-based organization providing:
- Free rides for medical and non-medical needs (ambulatory and wheelchair accessible)
- Peer-to-peer support and advocacy
- Assistance across a multi-state region (Wyoming to New Mexico)
- Support for veterans in partnership with the VA and local officers
- One-time financial assistance (e.g., car repairs – paid directly to vendors)
- Home support such as grab bars, furnishings, and medical equipment
- Donation acceptance (furniture and medical equipment in good condition)

- RTD LiVE Program Reminder: Riders do not need a physical LiVE card if it is linked in their app.

Mission: Transportation Solutions Arapahoe County is a community-based group that works collaboratively to identify and find solutions to the transportation needs within Arapahoe County.
Vision: Transportation Solutions Arapahoe County will work to achieve sustainable, person-centered, coordinated solutions that support the dignity, independence, and quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities, and the low income population in the County.
In all meetings and communications of the Arapahoe County LCC (Transportation Solutions Arapahoe County) each member will respect and value everyone’s comments and time.

- Our October workshops on the DRMAC app & RTD Access-a-Ride:
- Aurora Center for Active Adults had 9 participants & didn’t go as well as it could have.
- Malley Rec. Center had 15 participants and went much better than the other one.
- Silver Society on the Go – Shut-ins
- ArapCo grant was about half of what is needed but, I’ll go forward with a shortened time frame.
- As of 2/7, there is only 1 participant registered.
- TSAC planning
- Baum: Another workshop like Transportation Solutions. Baum went on to plan one for Malley Rec. Center (6/10, 10/23)
- Stryker suggested creating a program to serve ArapCo. Suhaka said she believes that’s what Silver Society is.
- This really isn’t enough to go on to plan an activity for Arapahoe County.
- Member updates
- Jeannie Davis has been on the Aurora Commission for Older Adults for 9 years, 5 as the chair. She’s now stepping down.
- Adjourn: Chair Suhaka adjourned the meeting at 2:15p.
